Take a closer look behind the human touch to our technology.

Dr. Ing. Renato Pellegrini

Co-Founder, Managing Director of EMEA

Renato received his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zürich in 1996.  He then started his professional career as a hardware engineer for digital mixing consoles at Studer Professional Audio in Zürich. In 2001, he received his PhD for his work in psychoacoustics with the thesis " a virtual listening room as an application of auditory virtual environments."  Before founding Sonic Emotion, he participated in the European Research project "Carrouso" on the topic of wave field synthesis. Renato brings us over 18 years of audio background and a member of the Audio Engineering Society. In 2007, he gained the Venture Leaders Award.

Dr. Sc technical Matthias Rosenthal

Co-Founder, CTO

Matthias has worked in the domain of audio signal processing and networking for 18 years. He received his PhD in 1997 from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zürich, where he designed the architecture of the first digital mixing consoles for Studer Professional Audio. Before founding Sonic Emotion, he headed the R&D of  Nagravision`s Pay TV scheduling systems.

Dr. Etienne Corteel

Ph.D, Chief Scientific Officer

Etienne is considered to be one of the most well known scientists among the acoustic worlds of spatialization and wave field synthesis. Etienne has published numerous journal articles and serves as reviewer in various audio and acoustics related journal and conferences such as IEEE Transactions on Audio Speech and Language Processing, Acta Acustica united with Acustica, Journal of the Acoustical Society of America to name a few.

Furthermore, Etienne`s extensive educational background includes his PhD from Paris 6 University, in addition to, his Diploma in Acoustics and Signal Processing at Aix-Marseille University in 2001. Etienne brings us over 13 years experience with an audio background including research and development with Studer Professional Audio AG and IRCAM in Paris.

Khoa-Van Nguyen

Scientist in Acoustics and Audio

Van who is currently working on his PhD at Paris 6 University has completed his Masters degree in Acoustics and Engineering at Marseille University in 2006. With Van`s extensive knowledge, acoustical societies alike have recognized Van a review expert, giving him the ability to review journal entries with the power of accepting, asking for changes or rejecting those not worthy of admission. We are happy to have Van on our team and know our partners are benefiting from his knowledge.
